Quartetto MOSSO was one of the great joys of our tenth-anniversary season. Their playing was marvelous - vibrant, refined, and deeply engaging - and the warmth and insight with which they introduced the music drew the audience even further into the performance. The immediate standing ovation at the close of the program said everything: our audience was captivated.”

Quartetto MOSSO opened our 2026 season with warmly received performances of Caroline Shaw’s 2016 composition Blueprint, Dmitri Shostakovich’s fourth string quartet, and, with pianist Manon Hutton-Dewys, Robert Schumann’s E-flat major piano quintet. The interpretation of Shostakovich’s quartet was especially compelling, the performers’ careful attention to every expressive detail revealing the deep beauty of a complex and challenging composition.
